Australia’s most infamous bushranger Ned Kelly was the leader of the Kelly gang, a band of 19th century outlaws. Amongst other things he is known for wearing a suit of bullet proof armour in his final shootout with police. The amour was effective at repelling bullets but didn’t save him from bullet wounds to his hands and legs which is what ultimately lead to his capture. Ned Kelly’s armour was very heavy weighing in at about 45 kilograms, in comparison our Ned Kelly costume is much lighter and way less awkward to wear.
